Simply wet a sponge or cloth and the surface to be cleaned, sprinkle some powder to make a paste, rub gently, then rinse. Since Bon Ami has no harsh chemicals, there’s no need to wear dishwashing gloves!

When cleaning highly polished, painted or decorative surfaces, first test in an inconspicuous area. For best results, be sure to follow the use & care directions issued by the manufacturer or installer of any surface.

Bon Ami Powder Cleanser is safe and effective for many non-decorative hard surfaces including many pots & pans (excluding non-stick cookware), cooktops and countertops, microwaves and grills as well as sinks, showers and tile. It can be used on toilets as well (just not inside the tank). Types of materials it can be used on include stainless steel, porcelain, enamel, fiberglass and acrylic.
Bon Ami works best by itself, following instructions on the label. While we do not anticipate any unfavorable or dangerous reactions when combining Bon Ami with most other common household cleaning products, we never recommend mixing cleaning products.
If you want to use a second cleaning product after using Bon Ami, just be sure to rinse thoroughly before using your next product.
Bon Ami Powder Cleanser is not recommended for windows, mirrors, or other glass surfaces.
Bon Ami is suitable for most countertops and some other natural stone surfaces, while SOME natural stone surfaces might be sealed and require special care.
Test in an inconspicuous area to ensure the desired result will be achieved. Use a soft sponge or cloth and plenty of water. Rub gently, then rinse.

Bon Ami will remove rust / hard water deposits with gentle rubbing. Bon Ami should not sit on surfaces for an extended period of time.

While Bon Ami can be used on many hard surfaces, it should NOT be used in a washing machine nor dishwasher.
With normal use, Bon Ami is compatible with any septic/sewage system.

We’ve currently chosen to not add to the cost and price of the product by adding a lid.
If the current closure does lose its grip, some users might replace the closure with tape of their own. Consumers have also told us they use a small sandwich baggie over the top and secure it with a rubber band.

Due to new labeling regulations you may notice that some ingredients look a little different. We are now listing our components by their technical names, rather than in short hand. Rest assured our ingredients are the same formulations that you have safely used and loved for many years.

Bon Ami cleaning products are manufactured in the United States.
Here at Faultless Brands, we have “Americanized” the pronunciation a bit. We say BON as in “bonnet” and AMI as in “Sammy” with the first syllable in second word getting the most emphasis. (Băhn-am-ēē)
“Bon Ami” means “good friend” in French. So, Bon Ami can ALSO be pronounced using proper French pronunciation rules (first word pronounced “bone”, last syllable of second word gets most emphasis). (bōn-ăh-mēē)
Bon Ami Powder Cleanser is certified Kosher for Passover AND year-round use.
Our paper + aluminum package is one of the most eco-friendly on store shelves. It’s made from 65% post-consumer recycled materials and may be recycled again.
All liquid Bon Ami cleaning products were retired in 2014. We have no remaining inventory.
